Sam earned his law degree from Wayne State University Law School. He is a graduate of Oakland University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science, with a focus on international relations.

While in law school, he served on the executive boards of several organizations, including the Free Legal Aid Clinic (Treasurer), the International Law Students Association (President), and the Student Trial Advocacy Program (President).

He was awarded the George Peck Endowed Scholarship for Superior Advocacy for earning first place in his law school’s annual trial competition. In addition, Sam clerked in the Law School’s Asylum and Immigration Law Clinic where he provided representation to indigent asylum seekers and survivors of domestic violence.

Sam has devoted his legal career exclusively to immigration law. Prior to joining the Law Office of Joumana Kayrouz, Sam worked for two prominent immigration law firms in metro Detroit where he successfully represented hundreds of clients seeking naturalization, marriage-based green cards, waivers, fiancé petitions, immigration petitions with criminal elements, TN petitions, H-1B and PERM applications, and many other types of immigration cases.

As an immigrant himself, Sam has personally experienced the complex immigration law system in America and strives to simplify the process for his clients. As immigration law is a federal law, Sam is able to represent clients from anywhere in the U.S. and abroad using the latest software and technologies.  He prides himself in approaching each case with attention to detail and zealous advocacy. By staying abreast of the latest changes to immigration law, he works diligently for his clients to find the right solution to their immigration case. Sam speaks fluent Arabic and is a Member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He is also a Member of the State Bar of Michigan.
