$10 Fee for H-1B Visa Registration

$10 Fee for H-1B Visa Registration
Back on September 4, 2019, USCIS published a notice of proposed rulemaking to require a registration fee for H-1B petitions. USCIS is fee-funded, and effective next Monday, December 9, 2019, USCIS will require a $10.00 registration fee for petitioners seeking to file an H-1B Petition on behalf of Cap-Subject Aliens.
The H-1B visa allows companies in the United States to employ foreign workers on a temporary basis who have earned a bachelor’s degree or higher in a specific specialty requiring “the application of a body of highly specialized knowledge.”
This new rule is to be implemented during the fiscal year 2021 H-1B cap season when the electronic registration system begins. Petitioners seeking to file H-1B cap-subject petitions will have to first electronically register with USCIS during a designated registration period. It is a non-refundable fee.
