Is USCIS going to Open In-Person Services on June 4, 2020?
USCIS offices are in the midst of preparing to reopen on or after Thursday, June 4, 2020. USCIS had temporarily suspended in-person services at its field offices, asylum offices, and application support centers (ASCs) on March 18, 2020 in order to help slow the spread of COVID-19. USCIS employees havecontinued performing services which do not require contact with the public.
USCIS is continuing to provide limited emergency in-person services. You are advised to call the USCIS Contact Center at 1-800-375-5283 for assistance with emergency services.
If you have not already received a notice for a rescheduled appointment, USCIS is in the process of preparing those notices to all applicants and petitioners with scheduled appointments and naturalization ceremonies impacted by the temporary closure. USCIS asylum offices are sending interview cancellation notices and automatically rescheduling thoseinterviews. When the interview is rescheduled, asylum applicants will receive a new interview notice with the new time, date and location of the interview.
When the temporary closure of USCIS offices is re-opened.USCIS will automatically reschedule ASC appointments. Look for a new appointment letter in the mail. Those who had InfoPass or other appointments must reschedule through the USCIS Contact Center once field offices are open to the public again. Please check to see if the respective office has been reopened before calling the Contact Center.
