Does Michigan Require Suspected Child Abuse to Be Reported?

Straight answers from The Law Offices of Joumana Kayrouz.

Michigan’s Child Protection Law requires certain professionals to report suspected child abuse or neglect when they have reasonable cause to suspect it. The statute identifies categories of mandated reporters and establishes reporting procedures.

If a child is in immediate danger, protecting the child should be the priority. Contact appropriate emergency or law enforcement authorities when necessary.
