Do you need to Renew your Employment Authorization Documents as an Alien with Temporary Protected Status of Yemen?
USICS announced on Monday March 2, 2020 that if you are an alien with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) under Yemen’s designation can re-register and renew your status between March 2, 2020 and May 1, 2020. You will need to submit Form I-821, Application for Temporary Protected Status, and also request a renewal of your EAD by filing Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization.
USCIS will issue new EADs with an expiration date of September 3, 2021 if you timely re-register and apply for your EAD. If your current EAD has expired, it will automatically be extended for 180 days, through August 30, 2020.
The decision by acting Secretary of Homeland Security, Chad F. Wolf, was made on the basis of ongoing armed conflict in the region. Yemen’s TPS designation is therefore extended through September 3, 2021.
If you need assistance on how to renew your employment authorization and/or re-register your Temporary Protected Status, , you can visit www.uscis.gov/tps. You will learn more about the requirements and which documents to file, along with copies of the forms to download.
