Although Supplemental Security Insurance (SSI) benefits are NOT paid out of the Social Security Trust, the SSA administers several programs with the intention of assisting persons who are receiving disability benefits back into the workplace.
TICKET TO WORK
The Ticket to Work program assists you in setting work goals through a plan agreed to by an SSA specialist and members of and employment network team. You are entitled to receive free vocational services including evaluations, job coaching, training and placement. Michigan Rehabilitation Services is a state agency that offers this support. Together with an employment network of counselors and employers, you can design a plan to achieve your work goals. The members of the employment network will receive payment from the SSA without any contribution from you. Their pay is based on your ability to achieve your goals.
