Michael Benkstein, Attorney and Counselor (MRB) Michael Benkstein has been the Managing Attorney of the Bankruptcy Department at The Law Offices of Joumana Kayrouz, PLLC since September 2017. He earned his B.A. at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (1999), and his J.D. at Michigan State University College of Law, East Lansing, Michigan (2005). Michael was on the Dean’s List for the entirety of his last two years in the three-year J.D. program at Michigan State University College of Law. He was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 2006, and to the United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan in 2007.
His legal experience includes Bankruptcy, Debt Negotiation, Loan Modification, Property Tax Appeals, and Loss Mitigation. He also has real estate experience as a former Michigan licensed Real Estate Broker and Realtor®. Michael has represented home buyers, home sellers, and JP Morgan Chase Bank, N.A. in home sales subject to third-party approval. Michael is an experienced bankruptcy attorney.
